STATEMENT
My work has always been about color, light, movement and texture. I began my career as a figurative artist and portrait painter. As my art has evolved into abstraction these elements still reside. Many of the abstractions project a feeling of landscape. The viewer is often stationed above looking down at the image
Paper is a material I have loved since my beginnings as a printmaker. Special handmade paper is used in most of my paintings, mono-prints and mixed media pieces. Since leaving NYC a few of years ago and coming to the Catskills, the power of nature, the light that changes as the seasons change has been most inspiring and is more and more important to me as I work.
