STATEMENT

My work explores the evolving relationship between landscape, memory, and emerging technologies. Rooted in painting, my practice has gradually expanded to include photography, installation, poetry, video, and artificial intelligence when each serves the ideas being explored. Rather than treating these mediums separately, I see them as different ways of investigating how we remember, interpret, and shape our relationship to the world.

Materiality plays a central role in my work. Through layered surfaces, encaustic wax, and the physical process of excavation, I create paintings that suggest memory itself—revealing traces of what came before while allowing new histories to emerge. These tactile works remain grounded in the artist’s hand, emphasizing the physical presence of making in an increasingly digital age.

More recent projects extend this conversation through AI-generated imagery, moving images, and installation. My interest is not in technology for its own sake, but in how these tools are reshaping our understanding of creativity, authorship, and cultural memory. Rather than positioning the physical and digital in opposition, I seek a dialogue between them—one that acknowledges both the enduring significance of handmade objects and the transformative possibilities of new technologies.

Ultimately, my work asks how art can carry human experience forward during a time of profound technological change. Whether through paint, wax, digital media, or installation, I am interested in creating spaces where memory, imagination, and material presence continue to shape our understanding of what it means to be human.
